We hope our summer residents had an amazing time here, and we can’t wait to get the ball rolling for the upcoming school year! We wish you all safe travels back to your hometowns and hope you all enjoyed your stay at The Marq. Additionally, we have a TON of events going on in August, and we hope you can all be a part of them, so be sure to “Marq” your calendars accordingly! August 19 can’t some soon enough.  Maintenance Tips Air conditioning units should not be regularly set below 70 degrees as this could lead to a unit freezing over. Please also be courteous to your roommates while using the air conditioning when nobody is home to help cut costs for everyone! Please help keep the courtyard clean. We are pet friendly, but in order to remain friendly, we’re asking residents to do their due diligence in picking up after their pets out in the courtyard. Is something broken? You can submit a maintenance request online at www.livethemarq.com, or stop by the leasing office to submit your request.   Reminders & Updates Haven’t renewed your lease yet? Spots are LIMITED. Be sure to renew ASAP to keep your same apartment and be locked into the lowest rate possible. Electric bills are split per the number of residents in each apartment and will be posted to your account by the 1st of each month — please make your payment when you pay your monthly installment. How Doodling Can Enhance Creativity

A Marquette Student’s Remarkable Story. Ben’s journey is an inspiring one, and he shares firsthand the positive impact doodling can have, whether that’s a way to distract yourself, improve both mentally and physically through hardships, or find your passion in life. For Ben, doodling started from boredom after watching hours of Breaking Bad while recovering from multiple health problems, including a stroke. While most Marquette students were out partying without a care, Ben found a sketchbook and “decided to give drawing a shot.” Since that fateful night, Ben has continued and improved his doodling, moving on from initially drawing mountains to faces and urban landscapes. Doodling became a daily habit, much like reading before bed or catching up on the latest episode of your favorite television show, and eventually became a passion that helps to enhance memory and harness creativity. Ben has found fulfillment and a new way of learning through doodling. The Benefits of Doodling. As a student, you’ve probably had your share of classes where you couldn’t quite pay attention the entire time and ended up doodling in the margins of your notes or even within textbooks. While this may have drawn some disdainful looks from teachers and fellow classmates sharing notes, I’m here to tell you that you were way ahead of the curve. In recent years, there has been more and more research, and a revolution of sorts, with people supporting doodling and the potential long-term health benefits it provides.
