Established as Marquette College in 1881, Marquette University is a private, Jesuit university serving more than 12,000 students. In 1909 Marquette became the first co-ed Catholic university in the world and is one of the largest Jesuit universities in the United States. Marquette University includes 11 schools and colleges and nearly 25% of students major in business, management, and marketing. Other popular majors include engineering, communications, journalism, and biomedical sciences. The Marquette Golden Eagles compete in the Big East Conference at the NCAA Division I level in 11 varsity sports. The Golden Eagles have won multiple conference championships in men’s basketball, men’s golf, and women’s soccer.

Milwaukee School of Engineering

The Milwaukee School of Engineering enrolls more than 2,500 undergraduate and graduate students and was founded in 1903. MSOE offers full-time bachelor’s degree programs in engineering in architectural, biomedical, civil, industrial, and mechanical specialties, among others.
